[Poetry] Colors of Closeness by Cricket Miller

A purple two shades lighter
than expected deepens
into an ocean shifting
with shadows and squiggles
that glow yellow, floating
above the threat of absence
that condenses into the color
of the night sky still holding on
to the idea of sunlight.
Then pink comes out
of the blue, seeing,
deciding to stay.
