There is a hollowness within me that I hope to reach
It exists too much in the night
And the light makes it fade like a memory into my dreams
I go on without it
The day passes by
But in the night,
When I am without a heart and without a mind,
It is only my soul that meets my eyes,
There is a hollowness within me that I hope to reach,
It flows through me,
Like an eternal moment of a God’s Grace,
Bestowed on me is the hand of the warriors who
Have left the world
But not the earth,
I find them in the roots of the age old trees,
The sky that doesn’t let me belong,
The ocean that spreads through me,
Vast and wide,
I am the water and the water is all I am,
The ocean speaks to me,
There are voices we create
And there are voices that come to us,
Like faint whispers of a fate bestowed,
Oh, there is a hollowness within me I hope to reach,
In the morning, I will forget my poetry,
Drink too much coffee, blind myself through work,
But oh, this night and this silence is only mine
And I am with the Gods in this little place of rest
Before the climb.
