[Poetry] Where You’ll Find Me by Peggy Heitmann

If you are looking for me,
you will find me near the ocean
under a purple velvet sky
sprinkled in a star shower
of dreamy notions.
Ideals poets write about:
glimpses of tranquility,
a shimmer of kindness.
I’ll be standing at the water’s edge.
You’ll soon discover I’m like a broken
earthen vase, still usable,
polished by the salty sea,
and grainy ocean sands,
once jagged now smooth.
I reach down, scoop
water into my hands
and look up at the flower moon.
I douse myself in
in briny water, and sink deeper
into the sand.
